How to Change the Appearance of the System

Modified on Thu, Mar 20 at 2:42 PM

Overview:

The system provides an option to customize its appearance based on user preferences. Users

can select from various themes to personalize their interface, improving usability and visual

experience.

Scenario:

A user wants to change the appearance of the system to a different theme that better suits

their preference or improves visibility. This feature is useful for users who prefer a specific color

scheme or want to enhance readability.

Procedure:

Step 1. Navigate to the Appearance Settings

Go to the View>Appearance to access the theme customization options.

Step 2. Browse Available Themes

The system provides two available tools in changing the appearance of the system:

  1. Themes
Enhances user experience by allowing changes based on mood, events, or company branding.

Available Themes to select in the system:

    Vector
A clean and modern theme using scalable vector-based graphics. It provides smooth edges, high contrast, and adaptability to different screen resolutions.

    Default
The system’s standard theme, offering a balanced and familiar appearance

    Latest Office Skins
Inspired by the latest Microsoft Office designs, featuring a sleek, professional look.

    Visual Studio
Styled after Microsoft Visual Studio, available in both dark and light variations, ideal for
    developers.

    Previous Office Skins
Resembling older Microsoft Office versions, for users who prefer a classic interface.

    Thematic
Includes event-based or seasonal designs, such as holiday-themed or company-branded
    appearances.

    Thematic Flat
A variation of Thematic with a flat design, eliminating gradients for a minimalist look.

    Seasonal
Provides themes based on holidays, seasons, or special events, keeping the interface visually
    engaging.

    Retro Flat
A vintage-inspired theme with bold colors and simple shapes, offering a nostalgic yet modern
    feel.

    Retro 3D
Mimics early 3D-style interfaces, featuring beveled edges and gradients reminiscent of older
    computing aesthetics.

  2. Skin Palettes (available only for Vector Themes)
Predefined color schemes and design elements that dictate the overall look and feel of the
interface, including window colors, button styles, text contrast, and background shades.

In the Themes tab, users can access a search bar along with a checklist to specify the

elements they want to include in the list.

Application:

Suppose a user frequently works in a low-light environment and finds bright interfaces

straining on their eyes. To address this, they decide to switch to the Visual Studio (Dark

Mode) theme, which offers a darker background with high-contrast text, reducing eye

strain and improving focus.
