HOW TO SETUP PAYSLIP MAILER IN YAHOO USING LESS SECURE APP FOR QNE PAYROLL

Problem Scenario(s):

Upon sending the test mailer for Payslip Mailer, user may encounter similar error message below.

Procedure(s):

To setup a yahoo account in Payslip Mailer, make sure that the mail account is on less secure mode, Two-step verification and Yahoo Account Key options are disabled.

To check, login to your Yahoo account using a web browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, etc.)

Click on the display picture icon and click 'Account Info'

On the left side, go to Account Security. If the two-step verification is on, disable the feature.

You may also notice that Yahoo Account Key is disabled so user will have nothing to configure if feature is already disabled.

NOTE: This manual does not include how to disable Yahoo Account Key.

Once Two-step verification is disabled, scroll down and click 'Generate App Password'

On the next pop-up select an app for yahoo mail to generate a password for.

Choose Other App option

User may set a customer name such as 'QnE Payroll'. Once done, click Generate.

Make sure to save a copy of the generated password as this will be the password to be used in QnE Payroll's Payslip Mailer account.

On Paylsip Mailer setup, use the password above, in the password field for that Yahoo account being setup. Once done, click Test Connection to test the payslip mailer account setup.

A message prompt will pop if the setup is successful. Finally click Save.
