How to 'Allow Modify After KnockOff' in Advanced Options

Modified on Thu, Jun 26 at 5:42 PM

Overview:

In QNE AI Cloud Accounting, when a transaction (such as a receipt or payment) is knocked off—meaning it has been matched or applied against another transaction (like an invoice)—the system typically restricts further modifications to maintain data integrity. However, enabling the Allow Modify After KnockOff option provides flexibility to make corrections or updates to these records without needing to undo the knockoff.

Scenario:

A finance staff discovers that a receipt applied to an invoice was recorded with an incorrect reference number. Since the transaction has already been knocked off, editing is normally restricted. By enabling the Allow Modify After KnockOff feature, they can make the necessary correction without reversing the applied transaction.

Solution:

1. Navigate the Advanced Options.

  • Go to Company > Maintenance >Advanced Options > General

Alternatively, users may select Account Icon > Advanced Options

2. In the Advanced Options list, look for the toggle labeled Allow Modify After KnockOff and enable the option.

3. After enabling the toggle, a confirmation prompt will appear, asking whether you wish to apply the changes. Click “Yes” to confirm the modification.

4. In the upper part of the page, a confirmation message will appear, indicating that the modification setting for KnockOff has been successfully saved.

Note: Activating this setting should be limited to users with the appropriate permissions. It is advisable to use audit trail tracking to log all changes made after knockoff.

Application:

For instance, if a payment was mistakenly recorded under the wrong payment method but has already been applied to an invoice, enabling the Allow Modify After KnockOff setting allows the finance team to update the payment method field without reversing the entire process. This streamlines correction workflows and preserves transaction links.
