Problem Scenario:
QnE Optimum can generate DAT Files for different transactions (VAT Relief, MAP, SAWT, etc.) which is required by the BIR. You may validate the generated DAT files(s) using BIR’s Validation Programs. You may use this link for download:
https://www.bir.gov.ph/index.php/downloadables.html
Upon validation, you may encounter the error “Invalid length in TIN of Owner”
Resolution:
Solution 1
Go to File > Company Profile and check the Classification field
This is a required field and can cause the said error if not set upon creation of Company.
Solution 2
Go to File > Registration
Check the Reg No. field. TIN must only be in 000-000-000 format. If exceeded, it will invalidate the DAT files and you will encounter the error.
If you try to update the field, you will see that the “Edit Profile” button is disabled.
With this, you need to re-register your database to update the Reg No. field. Click “Transfer Out” button.
You will be directed to this form. Fill in the Reason such as the sample one then click the Transfer License Out.
Once deactivated, you will see this message
Click OK and you will be logged out of the system. After then, log in again to the system and you will be prompted to register your company. Now, “Edit Profile” button is enabled.
Edit your Reg No. and remove the excess zeros.
Click Save once done and activate your license again.
After login, go back to File > Registration > double check your Reg No.
Lastly, generate your DAT files and validate it again. Validation must now be successful or the “Invalid length in TIN of Owner” error is removed.
